Richard Rierson, a successful entrepreneur and leadership mentor, has made a name for himself by conducting inspiring interviews with executives and celebrities on his podcast, "Dose of Leadership." Born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, Richard Rierson graduated from Wichita State University in 1991 with a BS in Computer Science. He then began training for Officer Candidate School (OCS). He spent six months at Infantry School, learning the qualities required for an Officer in the United States Marine Corps. Richard attended flight school in 1993 and has since logged over 10,500 flight hours as a Captain/Aircraft Commander in multiple types of aircraft in both military and commercial settings.

 

Richard served ten years of active duty as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps and ten years part-time with the Kansas Air National Guard & Air Force Reserve. He began his professional career in management at various companies, working his way up to Vice President. In this role, he provided oversight and leadership to the entire field, directing the area manager and exceptional operation staff. His work earned him the Wichita Business Journal's annual 40-Under-40 award in 2007.

 

Richard's leadership advice was so inspiring that several colleagues recommended he share it with a larger audience. Richard Rierson interviewed some of his admired leaders, recognizing the leadership gap he could fill. He sent an email to about 75 people he met from networking at speaking engagements and received three responses. From there, "Dose of Leadership" was born. Richard's interviews with high-quality leaders and personalities such as Steve Forbes, Shark Tank's Barbara Corcoran, FedEx CEO Fred Smith, Pittsburgh Steeler Coach Bill Cowher, and Matthew McConaughey have made his podcast one of the most popular in the business world, being named a "Top-10 Business Podcast" by Fortune, Business Insider, and INC Magazine.

 

Currently living and working from Wichita, KS, Richard is a full-time real estate investor. He is still heavily involved with philanthropic and community outreach endeavors. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, playing golf, and reading in his free time.
